Olive Blooms Orphanage came from the promise I made to God when I was believing God for the fruit of the womb. I said to God “that I do not want to adopt a child for want but I will adopt for charity if he blesses me with children.” God kept his part of the bargain. He blessed me with three lovely children. When I wanted to keep my own part of the bargain I heard him say that “You will not just adopt a child but will take care of abandoned babies and settle them in homes”. It was a mandate very difficult to accept.
God also asked me to look back and see who abandons the babies and why are babies abandoned. The answer to this has taken me to reach out in a special way to teenage girls particularly in public schools and minister to those who are in any form of abuse.
We have also sought and obtained approval from the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development to run the HOME.
We are happy to say that the first child whom we named Sarah Abel came into the Olive Blooms Home on the 17th of March 2010. By the 6th of September 2011, thirteen children have been placed in different homes. Two of our children are adopted into families in Europe.
The only requirement for adoption is to get an approval to adopt from the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development. The Ministry can be contacted for further details. When the approval is obtained, you can contact us with your letter of approval.
We advise prospective adopters to be patient; there is a long list of approvals.
We do not ask for any fee for adoption, neither do we show any preference to anybody. We treat each case as it presents itself.
